Abstract
A new technique is proposed for the treatment of ankle sprain. The technique has proved effective in the treatment of athletes for whom a minimum period of immobilisation is essential. The ankle is first wrapped in an adhesive elastic bandage and then encased in a rigid scaffold. The system was applied to 20 subjects who were then compared to another group given traditional treatment. Analysis of the results shows that the new technique offers significant advantages over traditional methods. Verf.-Referat
