Abstract

Twenty-one top-clas weight lifters performed anaerobic Margaria test. Among this group, seventeen athletes were tested on cycloergometer fitness test. During that test, anaerobic threshold (AT), maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max), maximal cardiac output (Qmax), and maximal stroke volume (SVmax) were determined. Besides, athletes were tested in their specific performance i.e. maximal snatch and clean and jerk. Body fat content was determined by measuring skinfolds on triceps, suprailiac and subscapular area. On this basis lean body mass (LBM) was calculated. Linear correlation coefficients were calculated according to Spearman procedure between basal anthropometric data, maximal aerobic and anaerobic power, as well as indices registered during cycloergometer fitness, on the one hand, and snatch and clean and jerk on the other hand. The results of this study showed a significant correlation between body height, body weight, body area, LBM and content of body fat, and absolute, as well as relative results in snatch and clean and jerk. Absolute values of aerobic powers as body mass dependent factors correlated with absolute results of snatch and clean and jerk. Verf.-Referat
