Abstract

Wrist arthroscopy can facilitate early definitive diagnosis of debilitating soft-tissue injuries and articular lesions in athletes. Many such injuries can be successfully treated with arthroscopic techniques, reducing the morbidity associated with surgical exposure and permitting earlier return to function. Reduction and stabilization of intra-articular fractures of the radius and scaphoid can be accomplished arthroscopically with accurate restoration of articular surfaces and earlier mobilization. These techniques expedite treatment of athletic injuries to the wrist and are appropriate new options for sports medicine physicians. Verf.-Referat
