Abstract

The acute effect of two different bicycle ergometer exercises on plasma lipids and lipoproteins were investigated in 41 male university students: thirteen untrained students and ten rowers performed maximal steady-state exercise at 85 VO2max. Exercise duration ranged 11-15 min; eight untrained students and ten cross-country skiers exercised 2h at 64 and 57 VO2max respectively. Blood samples were taken immediately before and after exercise and in 15 min and 30 min of recovery. In serum total cholesterol, HDL-C, LDL-C and triglycerides were measured. No apparent changes in lipids and lipoproteins concentration neither immediately after exercise nor in the recovery phase was shown in response to acute exercise bouts. Verf.-Referat
