Abstract
One major factor in the etiology of rotator cuff disorders is the relationship between the acromion and the tendons of the rotator cuff. Any pathologic process that decreases the volume of the subacromial space will lead to impingement and its sequelae. This article focuses on investigations from the clinical and laboratory settings concerning the morphology of the acromion, and its association with rotator cuff pathology is reviewed. Verf.-Referat
