Abstract
The authors analyzed (by an anonymous questionnaire given to 151 athletes playing in the National Championships) the level of knowledge and the diffusion of doping, amongst basket-ball and volley-ball players in the Bari area. The answers show that 17 of the interviewed took drugs to improve their performance, and in 2.5 of the cases illegal drugs were taken. The authors suggest the competent federations should be more worried about this phenomenon, that seems to involve sports considered immune, and for which no antidoping tests are carried out.
