Abstract
Because of the increasing number of available functional knee braces and the lack of clinically relevant research, choosing a functional brace can be a difficult task. An informed choice requires an understanding of knee pathomechanics, bracing mechanical principles, and individual patient requirements. The brace should address the individuals instability, correctly apply joint motion resistance, and receive patients acceptance. If correctly selected, a functional brace can be an integral part of successful rehabilitation. Verf.-Referat
