Abstract

The most frequently reported hand injuries in bowlers are related to digital nerves and vessels. Trigger finger and recurrent locking of the digital joints may be due to osteocartilaginous conditions, soft tissue injury, or any of a miscellaneous group of congenital, inflammatory, or neoplastic disorders. Stenosing tenosynovitis, a common cause of trigger finger, is due to repeated compressive trauma to the tendon sheath and flexor digitorum superficialis or flexor pollicis longus tendons. Two patients are reported with stenosing tenosynovitis, one of the thumb, and the other of the thumb, ring, and long fingers. Both injuries were caused by bowling. Verf.-Referat
