Abstract

Selection of sport may be considered by way of 1) motoric and physiological capabilities of the athlete, 2) motivation of youth to cultivation of sport 3) organizational system of sport. In the first case we deal with biological selection; other forms are relating to factors having their source in the society and its institutions. The second of these may be called more properly autoselection as the decision to continue training or abandoning sport remains with the athletes. The decision is based on their resolving of confronting awaitings of the sports and social environments. The third from organizational results of the way in which sport system operate. Structure of clubs location, the events system, priopriaties given to certain disciplines, etc. establish a number of barrier steps making selection and training of youth more difficult. There is no explicit answer to which from of selection generates most recruitment problems and contributed to resigning from sport. Sociological data show that both autoselection as well organizational selection contributed in a significant way to limiting the social range of sports cultivation. Verf.-Referat
