Abstract

The purpose of this work was to study the relationships between the level of anaerobic power with age, aerobic efficiency, lean body mass, and height in systematically training adults. Twenty two men at the age of 20 to 55 were examined. Anaerobic power was tested by means of a Bar-Or test. In systematically training adults (endurance exercise, 2-3 hours/week) the decrease of anaerobic power with age mainly depends on the level of lean body mass (LBM) but, to a lesser degree, on aerobic efficiency (PWC85 HRmax).
