Abstract
The desire to return to competition as quickly as possible adds an extra challenge to caring for fractures of the hand and wrist in the athlete. It is often difficult to find the correct balance between adequate protection and safe participation. Innovative orthosis, as well as internal fixation techniques can be very helpful in meeting this challenge. Prompt evaluation and proper treatment is important and can shorten overall healing time.
