Abstract
Tremendous stresses are placed on the foot and ankle of the athlete during sports. These stresses may cause either acute or chronic (overuse) injuries. Early recognition and treatment of these injuries will significantly reduce lay-off time and decrease the likelihood of prolonged impairement of performance. This review stresses the diagnostic workup of the injured foot and ankle and the appropriate treatment regimens. Verf.-Referat
