Abstract
Comparison of two series of cases of spinal cord injuries in motorcyclists caused by road and sports accidents respectively showed that such injuries have a low incidence and particular epidemiological features within the framework of sports traumatology in general, and that associated with motorcycling in particular. Stress is laid on the need for urgent surgical treatment so as to reduce and/or stabilize the lesion and also remove any residual cord compression. Verf.-Referat
