Abstract
This paper deals with the effect of exercise training on the adenine nucleotides turnover within various types of muscle fibers of cadmium intoxicated rats. The data indicate that a long-term cadmium uptake may significantly decrease the ATP level available from both the aerobic and anaerobic pathways and thus may impair the skeletal muscle adaptation to physical effort.
