Abstract

The presented paper discusses the multiplane analysis of the relations holding between the jumping abilities and selected morphological parameters as well as the social stratification level. The analysis is based on the results of tests carried out on 1250 boys and 1207 girls aged 7-18 years. The statistical analysis of the material employs the method of curvilinear regression and variance analysis. It has been found that 1) the majority of the relations between the result of the counter movement jump and the parameters of the body size, proportion, and components can be described by means of a parabola, 2) the social stratification level determined by the education of the mother or that of the father differentiates between the result of the counter movement jump in the following direction: higher education > secondary education > primary education, 3) the relations between the result of the jump and the morphological parameters are at different levels depending on the social stratification level.
