Abstract
Sudden death at the sportfield is very dramatic. Also apparently healthy young people can be the victim. Relatively often a hypertrophic (obstructive) cardiomyopathy is the cause of death. It is very important to trace the group at risk. History and physical examination will initiate further tests. Electrocardiography in rest is very important, but echocardiography gives the definite diagnosis. The extent of the abnormal hypertrophy provide the diagnosis and lays the foundation of advising in playing games. Verf.-Referat
