Abstract
The clinical and radiological features of the femoropatellar joint in 100 top-ranking basketball, volley-ball and hockey players and field and track athletes were compared with those of 20 healthy, sedentary controls in a search for derangements possibly attributable to a given sport. The results showed that no significantly evident femoropatellar alteration was detectable radiologically. Such clinical symptoms as were observed were probably the outcome of conditions ascribable to overloading of the muscles and tendons. Verf.-Referat
