Abstract
Athletes are as likely as nonathletes to abuse recreational drugs. They are certainly more inclined to abuse drugs considered ergogenic aids. Accurate information is required when educating athletes regarding these drugs. Sports medicine specialists are being called on more frequently to provide this information.
