Abstract
The thumb is the most frequently injured part of the upper extremity in skiing, and the shoulder the next most often injured. Grade III sprains of the ulnar collateral ligament of the thumb are extremely common and their diagnosis and treatment are controversial. This article suggests a new protocol for quickly establishing the diagnosis. Casting is recommended for Grade III ruptures without adductor interposition and surgical repair for those with interposition. Verf.-Referat
