Abstract
Although the overall rate of alpine ski injuries has not declined significantly, certain injuries have decreased. The rate of lower leg injuries, particularly twist-related, has shown the greatest decline. Medial collateral ligament injury is the only type of knee sprain that showed a significant decrease in incidence. Future research should be aimed at correlating injuries with weather conditions and at improving the design of boots and bindings. Verf.-Referat
