Abstract

The aim of this article is to establish a realtionsship between reactivity as one of temperamental features and performance efficiency during the start of weight-lifters in a situation of stress. Reactivity is the temperamental feature which defines the degree of sensitivity to stimulation and the value of the corresponding response. This value of response manifests itself i. a. in the level of task performance under the situation of stress; which is stimulatingly rich. On the basis of the results of the Strelaus Questionaire the test group of competitors has been divided into three sub-groups of low, medium and high reactivity. A hypothesis has been made that under the conditions of stress, such as the start in a contest, the group of low-ractivity competitors would show statistically significant better performance over high-reactivity ones. Test results have confirmed the hypothesis. The stress-generating situation of the start surpasses the ability of regulating sports performance by high-reactivity competitors and may even have a destructive influence. The same situation has a mobilizing effect on low-reactivity competitors. Verf.-Referat
