Abstract
The effect of heavier extremities on heart beat, VO2/Kg, RQ and lactacidaemia was assessed by means of laboratory tests on three groups of subjects divided according to age and athletic commitment. The results show that the attachment of weights equivalent to 5 of total body weight to the lower extremities significantly increased cardiocirculatory, respiratory and metabolic activity.
