Abstract
This review focuses on a range of visual parameters and their contribution to the learning and performance of sports skills. The tenets proposed by Gentiles (1975) model relating oculomotor/visual processess and environmental complexity together with the more generalised notions from information processing theorists provide the theoretical foundation for the review. There is sufficient evidence to suggest that parameters such as dynamic visual acuity, peripheral vision and depth perception are related to motor learning and sports performance. Limitations in existing research are outlined, together with suggestions for future research and the development of a visuo-motor talent identification test battery. Verf.-Referat
