Abstract

The effect of seven days exposure to the middle altitude on the visual analyzer was investigated. Twenty physical students (group A) participated in a skiing camp at the middle altitude (1600-1800 m). A control group (B) - 120 physical students trained skiing at the low altitude (200-600 m). Sixteen parameters of reaction time (RT) were measured. Four stimuli: yellow, red, green and grey colour lights were used. It had been demonstrated that the middle altitude resulted in shortening the simple and disjunctive RT. The stabilization of RT occurs on the 3-rd and 4-th days. It indicates that the nervous-muscular system and analyzers were extremely sensitive to the condition of middle altitude. After return to the low altitude, an impairment of RT was distinct and lasted 7 days. Verf.-Referat
