Abstract
The maximal power of the upper extremities and trunk as well as of the lower extremities and trunk was evaluated during the vertical counter-movement jump, the simulated ball throw, and the weightlifting pull test. The jump was performed on a dynamometric platform (KISTLER), and the inertial dynamometer with a rotary/impulse transducer was used to evaluate the power of the upper extremities and trunk. the power of the lower extremities is higher for weightlifters (3995 W) than for handball players (3264 W). These values vary for subsequent tests. During the throw the power of the upper extremities is about 4.5 times lower than that of the lower extremities, whereas in the weightlifting pull test it is only 1.5 times lower. The method presented, as well as the results achieved, may be utilised for the continuous control of the training effects for the top-performance athletes. Verf.-Referat
