Abstract des Autors

Head, neck, face, and shoulder injuries to 150 female and male players in the Southern California Football Union in one season were counted and the rates compared. The overall injury rates were 68 and 69 per 100 players for women and men, respectively. The sexes did not differ significantly in the incidences of injury to the head, neck, face, and shoulders. The respective rates of disabling injuries for women and men were 12 and 30.7 per 100 players. To decrease injuries, better conditioning, increased skills, proper techniques, and improved control of play are recommended. Verf.-Referat
