Abstract
Two new cases of mors thymica are described. They refer to the sudden death of two boys, 15 and 12 years old, which occurred while they were practicing sport. Their physical fitness to any kind of sport had been clinically ascertained shortly before their death. The author underlines the difficulties encountered in the diagnosis of certain pathological conditions, especially of the functional type. Legal regulations on this in force today in Italy (D.M. 18/2/82) are criticized referring to the legal and medical principles concerning professional responsability in the field of medical care.
