Abstract des Autors

The present study was carried out on different classes of sportsmen that use firearms in order to ascertain the damages caused on hearing function by impulsive noise during agonistic activity or sports hunting. No significant hearing loss was found in sportsmen that use various calibre pistols, also for many years, because they systematically use headsets or protective aids for hearing. More significant hearing loss was found in sportsmen that use carbine in agonistic activity because they dont use protective aids for hearing. The most significative hypoacusia was found in sportsmen that use firearms during sports hunting without hearing protection. The authors point out the importance of protective aids for hearing comparing different classes of sportsmen that use firearms in different kinds of sport.
