Abstract

372 top class sportsmen were submitted to Dal Monte test to discover their maximum lactacid anaerobic capacity (MLAC). The subjects examined practised the following sports: weight lifting, bob sleighing, fencing, volley ball, rugby, wrestling, karate, tennis, canoeing, all sports where MLAC is a particularly vital factor. The mean results of the test at 2 m/sec were as follows (in kgm/kg/sec): Whole group tested 0.806 +/- 0.177; Weightlifting-bob sleighing 0.777 +/- 0.193; Fencing 0.792 +/- 0.186; Volley-ball, rugy, wrestling, karate, tennis 0.829 +/- 0.166; Canoeing 0.844 +/- 0.123. At 3 m/sec: Whole group tested 0.855 +/- 0.208; Weightlifting-bob sleighing 0.865 +/0.233; Fencing 0.864 +/- 0.213; Volley-ball, rugby, wrestling, karate, tennis 0.844 +/- 0.197; Canoeing 0.846 +/- 0.181. The above figures indicate a satisfactory MLAC level in all the athletes examined. No statistically significant differences were found between the various sports. Verf.-Referat
