Abstract
Several techniques are available for the containment of nasal bone fractures after reduction. The availability of new materials lies behind this proposed variation to the more traditional systems in use. It is particularly valuable where the patient is a sportsman needing quickly to recover physically and psychologically in order to return to the practice of his sport, but also offers full protection of the nasal pyramid and complete immobilisation of the reset bone fragments. The cast in question consists of a piece of gauze impregnated with an anallergic stiffening substance which is modelled on the patients and secured with adhesive tape. Verf.-Referat
