Abstract

We present our experience in the use of echography for the diagnosis of Achilles and patellar tendinopathies, in a series of 60 athletes. The sensographic characteristics of the various forms of inflammatory and degenerative pathologies involving sheaths, tendinous tissue, bursae are mainly: -enhancement of echogenicity of Kagers triangle in Achilles peritendinitis - enhancement or, more often, diminution of the echoic response of the tendinous tissue in tendinosis - visualization of the inflamed bursae as trans-sonic areas. Echography is a precise diagnosis aid, above all in the determination of the phase of the disease, and in the post-therapeutic follow-up (either surgical or other). In operated cases, the surgical findings show close correlation with the echographic and clinical diagnosis. Verf.-Referat
