Abstract
Arthroscopy is more than 60 years old. As early as 1920 Takagi tried to examine the interior of the knee joint with a telescope. Today, arthroscopy is a well-established diagnostic procedure of great importance in knee surgery. It also plays a role in the therapy of certain lesions of the knee joint. Standardized techniques and good instruments are now available. The use of arthroscopy has now been expanded to other joints, such as the elbow and shoulder. Verf.-Referat
