Abstract
One of the most common exercises of a classical ballet dancer is to balance on the tips of her toes (en pointe). Long periods of training are necessary to reach a joint laxity of the foot that allows proper positioning. Due to the persistent demands of an unnatural position of the foot and ankle, abnormalities or diseases of both may occur. Few articles have been published on dancers who have had treatment for tendinitis of the foot. We have observed a case of a classical ballet dancer with a story of painful triggering and locking of both halluces, who could not assume the en pointe position. Verf.-Referat
