Abstract
The authors have effected anthropometric measurements on a group of 15 excellent swimmers who have submitted to strenuous, daily training and athletics since puberty; they have described the typical somatotype of the swimmer, following Brians anthropometrographic method: the specific diagnosis is disarmonico, megasomo, dolicotipo. Such research was favourably compared with previous works on other sportsmen and sports, carried out with the same methods. However one must further note the importance of genetic influence, as well as any influence due to the swimmers particular activity and somatic characteristics that are so obviously different from ideal normality.
