Abstract
In view of the importance of down-hill skiing injuries for sports traumatology, the authors examine the data collected by recent research and compare it with that of Sportass for the sixties. There are indications of an increase in ligament and atypical injuries which are connected to a biomechanical change in the movements of the sport, related to a change in skiing equipment and technique. The authors point out that effective accident prevention in downhill skiing will come both from further technological refinements of the equipment and from its correct use. Verf.-Referat
