Abstract des Autors
A high school football player sustained a blow to the head during a game but did not lose consciousness or show immediate neurological impairement. He later developed a subdural hematoma. To help those who provide medical care at sports events to diagnose the severity of head injuries quickly and accurately, the authors review the types of concussion, on-field and sideline examinations, and guidelines for returning the athlete to play.
