Abstract

The authors have studied six university athletes, at a national level, racing in an official motocross competition. Immediately after the effort (within five minutes) a significant increase in W.B.C. (+ 67,9 ), glucose (+ 25,4 ), urea (+ 15,8 ), creatinine (+ 32,5 ), uric acid (+ 20 ), SGOT (+ 17,) ), LDH (+ 21,2 ), CPK (+ 47,8 ), was found out in comparison with the basal rates; also an increase (less than 15 ), for plasmatic osmolarity, sodium, phosphorus, proteins, albumin, alkaline phosphatasis, SGPT; and an important decrease for potassium (-19 ), total bilirubine (-39,6 ), triglycerides (-20,6 ). No alterations were observed for Hb, R.B.C., hematocrit, calcium, cholesterol and globuline. The heavy cardiovascular work and the significant metabolic-enzymatic alterations were related to the muscular work executed and to the psychophysical stress that this particular sport imposes. The necessity of an accurate validation of the athletes with particular attention to the nervous, cardiovascular, renal and muscular system is discussed. Verf.-Referat
