Abstract

We have examined the diet of a group of athletes; it shows a lower caloric amount of theoretic previsions which presumably depends on biochemical phenomenons of energetic metabolic adaptation. This should be for a lower activity of several futile cycles which we can find in glycolytic way between F6P and F 1-6 P with consumption of ATP and production of heat; so that the organism should produce more energy. B y a qualitative analysis we can see at once the preference that our athletes give to the animal protein, this shows the balance of PAPV is approximately double that of normal consumption. This at first might be seen to compromise the essential principle offeeding of a balanced diet and of the complementary of proteins with the resulting possible lack of several essential aminoacids. At second there is a great reduction of the balance between saturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids which can be noxious by point of view of energetic metabolism and of efficiency in regulation of humoral processes in microcircle during muscular activity.
