Abstract
A broad sphere of work with handicapped people is possible through the interactions of sports and sport psychology in the rehabilitation and therapy processes. The role of the sport psychologist and sports, or physical activity as a whole, in the processes of social integration, emotional and mental health, and improvement of self-concept are discussed. A model of an adapted physical activity delivery system with four major types of programs is included and explained. The role of the sport psychologist is described for each program type. Kodra
