Abstract des Autors
We studied 192 individuals injured in bicycle accidents. Males outnumbered females by a ratio of 3:2 and 77 of the bicyclists were between the ages of 6 and 16. Soft-tissue injuries of the head and face were common. The most frequent skeletal injuries were in the wrist and hand. Significant associated factors included mechanical or structural defects in the bicycle, collisions with motor vehicles, a riding surface covered by loose sand or gravel, turningor going downhill, riding double, and spoke obstruction.
