Abstract
Arrhythmias related to exercise conditioning should be recognized and distinguished from serious functional abnormalities of the sinus node or conduction pathways. Based on more complete appreciation of apparent physiological alterations in cardiac pacemaker and conduction function in the well-trained athlete, the clinician may exercise appropriate judgment in the selection of patients for more extensive evaluation.
