Abstract des Autors
A three-year survey of the incidence and nature of injuries and skin infections on an intercollegiate wrestling squad is presented. Many injuries were seen, but the number of serious injuries was relatively low (9.8). The time loss from the majority of the injuries was also small. Many more injuries occurred during practice than during matches. Skin infections were a problem, particularly in the early part of the season. There were no dehydration or weight reduction problems. Good coaching and officiating can prevent many of the more serious injuries. Verf.-Referat
