Abstract
Echocardiography is proposed as a means of investigating left ventricle function and it is stressed that this technique lends itself particularly to the study of the adaptation of the athletes heart to physical exercise. With thisin mind, a number of paradigmatic situations for highlighting the value of echocardiography in the various phases of sports training are consisdered. Verf.-Referat
