Abstract
On the basis of research and papers published by foreign workers between 1970 and 1-74 regarding the prevention and therapy of emotional stress, an experiment has been carried out on rapid therapy of the pre-race alarm syndrome, or mental aggression syndrome, using a beta-blocking agent (prenolol). The experiment involved a group of 20 athletes of both sexes and various sports, subdivided into test and placebo groups. Result were positive. Neurodistonic symptomatogy and the somatizations characteristic of the syndrome were reduced with no interference at central level and with a positive improvement in the behaviour and performance of the athletes in the test group.
