Abstract

The authors have reported two cases of elbow injury, i.e., Boxers Elbow, to the jabbing arm of two professional boxers. The mechanism of injury is a repetitive forced extension or hyperextension of the elbow. Pathology involved an avulsion fracture of the coronoid process and an osteochondral fracture or osteochondritis dissecans of the olecranon and the olecranon fossa. Removal of loose bodies was carried out followed by a total rehabilitation program, which permitted successful return to active competition. These are not new pathologies but the authors believe they must have been overlooked in the past. Verf.-Referat
